Today was the last full day in Taiwan. My friend wanted me to meet her near National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall (國父紀念館) for lunch. Thus, I decided to go to the Memorial Hall in the morning.
The Memorial Hall is a memorial to the Republic of China's National Father, Dr. Sun Yat-sen. The Hall was groundbreaking in 1964 and was completed on 1972. The primarily function of the Memorial Hall is a place to display the historical relics of Sun's life and the Xinhai Revolution (辛亥革命). It was later opened to exhibitions and performances.
The restaurant that my friend chose was a Japanese restaurant which is specialized used fruits to make sushi. It was a very interest restaurant.
After lunch, my friend dropped me near Four Four South Villege (四四南村) which was near my dinner meeting place.
Four Four South Villege is a popular attraction for locals, and is a landmark reminder of Taiwan's military past. The site was developed after the Chinese Civil War as a residential area for members of the Nationalist military and their families and dependents. I also lived in the military type residence when I was little. I had many neighborhood kids as borthers and sisters, and we all grew up togetger. It was a very fun time.
