Taiwan 09-18-2011

No water!!

After a perfect evening of enjoying the night market and a wonderful night of sleep, the first thing we found out in the morning was NO water!!!  Absolutely, no water!

We had no water to brush teeth, wash face, and even flush toilet.  Later, we learned it was because the road construction crews broke the water pipe for the whole area two days ago.  We were used the prepared water yesterday, but it was all gone in the morning.

Great!  Interesting experience!  Hot morning! No water!

We ate the breakfast ordered by the owner of the guest house and left Juifan.

First stop was Thirteen mines (十三行).  Thirteen mines located in Juifan, built during the Japanese occupation, as was the production of copper processing refineries.  The refining operations created another miracle of Taiwan's economy mineral.

We drove the scenic route to see the North East corner of Taiwan’s coastline.

We passed Toucheng ().  Through the internet research, we know there was a very famous ice cream shop, (阿宗芋冰).  The ice cream was made by using tradition method that was passing through for many generations.  The ice cream was taste great because it was not so sweet and it had the taste of my youth memory.

Nan-fang-ao is the largest isthmus along Taiwan’s western coastline. It is connected to Su-ao Harbor, with natural geographical layouts. The Black Tide that flows pass Nan-fang-ao’s outer seas provides an abundance of migrating fish, forming natural fish grounds.

LanYang Museum is next to Nan-fang-ao Port.  The building design is like a falling down building. We just took some pictures of the building and did not go in.  Instead, we went to do a very important business, lunch!

Seafood Lunch in Nan-fang-ao was great because the food was fresh, tasty, and inexpensive.

Due to we did not reserve any place for staying tonight, we directly went to find a place for tonight after lunch.

After few minutes looking, we decided that we want to stay in a guest house located on top of the mountain.  It was as a perfect choice!

The sister of the owner of the guest house owns a red meat guava farm.  I love the taste of guava.  The owner invited us to see her sister’s guava farm.  The farm was only 2 minute drive from the guest house.

I tasted a ripe guava.  I can taste its tender meat, delicious fragrant, and sweet taste.

A restaurant next to the guest house offers 180 degree of night city view of Yi-Lan.  Simply beautiful and relaxing!
