Tainan Black-faced spoonbill (黑面琵鷺) Reserve and Chigu Lagoon, covering 4095 hectares. The main focuses of the plan are to protect wetlands biodiversity, history of settlement and the characteristic salt and fishing industries. In September, migrant Black-faced Spoonbills begin to congregate in reclaimed land near the Tsengwen River mouth near the city of Tainan, to pass the winter.
We were not able to see Black-faced spoonbill because they had not come yet.
After Taijiang National Park, we visited Anping (安平). Since the Ming and Ching Dynasty, Anping Port (安平古堡) had been the largest harbor in Taiwan.
Anping is a district of Tainan City. The history of Anping dates back to the 17th century, when Dutch East India Company occupied Taiwan. In the period of the Japanese occupation, the history of trade between China and Japan unfolded at Anping.
We did not stay Anping Port for a long time because it was a very hot day. We decided to go to Sih Jong Si (四重溪) and enjoy Sih Jong Si Hot Spring (四重溪溫泉). Nice! Hot spring!
