Today was a hot day
and we drove away from the ocean. No
breeze! Hot and dry!
We drove on the Highway
199 from Crescent City, CA to Grants Pass, OR.
This is the same road that we drove three days ago.
First, we stopped at
Grants Pass Riverside Park and had a picnic there. The park features frontage on the Rogue
River, rose garden, large mature trees, and lots of grass for picnics and play. In the park, we saw many geese and ducks.
The Rogue River is located in southwestern
Oregon. It flows about 215 miles in a generally westward direction from the Cascade
Range to the Pacific Ocean.
After the Riverside
Park, we went to Valley of Rouge State Park.
It is a park with trail along the Rouge River.
We only stayed there about 15 minutes because it was too hot to walk on the trail under
the sun without any shade.
Before we were heading
to our hotel in Central Point, we took Highway 99, Highway 234, and Upper River
Road to drive along the Rouge River.
There are parks on the Upper River Road such as Hardy Riffle County Park
and Fisher Ferry County Park. Rouge River is a good place for water activities such as rafting, boating, or fishing.
