Taiwan - Kinmen 2014-10-15

Located in the southwest of Kinmen Island (金門), Shueitou Village (水頭聚落) is a seashore village with building groups with western style or southern Fujian style.

Shueitou Village (水頭聚落) is the only village in Kinmen (金門) formed commercial port and pier, with its specific geographical condition of facing the sea that shapes the village to be with a distinctive village style differentiated from that of other villages.

Deyue Tower (得月樓) build for guarding against the pirates, the Western style house among which the “Huang Family Youtang Garden” with the style of Chinese classic gardens and the Deyue Tower with the western style are the most representative. 

The Huang Family Youtang Garden (黃氏酉堂) was established in 1766, the thirty-first year of Kanghsi (光緒) in the Ching Dynasty (清朝). As it has been used as a private school and newspaper office, it is Jhaishan Tunnel lies southeast of Gugang Lake and the Jhaishan Tunnel passes through the Jhaishan mountain to the sea. Construction began in 1961 and was completed in 1966.
