Taiwan—Taipei - Seattle 2016-10-28

Today was my home coming day.  I used my remaining couple hours in Taiwan to meet my friends before I headed to airport.

At the airport, I met the contact person of a international dog rescue group that I promised them to transport some rescue dogs to Seattle. The rescue group prepared 7 dogs for me to bring to Seattle.  The dogs are all under 1 year old and beautiful.  While we were preparing the check in process, I saw the volunteers were busy to prepare water and blanket for each of the dogs.  At the end, I saw the volunteers talked to the dogs like the parents talk to their kids who are going to leave home for a while.  I believe the volunteers must have mixed feelings of happy and sad at the same time.

After finished the check in process, I went to the VIP Lounge to have a shower and rest.  I was so surprised to see an old friend who we tried to meet but had a difficulty to find a time for us to meet.

After 10 hours of flight, the 7 dogs and I arrived at Seattle airport.  After speedy custom clearance, the 7 dogs happily met their froster families.

Finally, while I was waiting for a shuttle, a Limo driver came and called my name.  Wow, because I was waiting too ling, the shuttle company arranged a Limo to take me home.  This was the first time to sit on Limo.  Wow!

I had an amazing vacation.  I met most of my friends in Taiwan and brought back with full of their loves and friendships.  It is also amazing that I finished my vacation with 7 rescue dogs come to U.S. and start their new lives in U.S.

Taiwan—Taipei 2016-10-27

Today was the last full day in Taiwan.  My friend wanted me to meet her near National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall (國父紀念館) for lunch.  Thus, I decided to go to the Memorial Hall in the morning.

The Memorial Hall is a memorial to the Republic of China's National Father, Dr. Sun Yat-sen.  The Hall was groundbreaking  in 1964 and was completed on 1972. The primarily function of the Memorial Hall is a place to display the historical relics of Sun's life and the Xinhai Revolution (辛亥革命). It was later opened to exhibitions and performances.

The restaurant that my friend chose was a Japanese restaurant which is specialized used fruits to make sushi.  It was a very interest restaurant.

After lunch, my friend dropped me near Four Four South Villege (四四南村) which was near my dinner meeting place.

Four Four South Villege is a popular attraction for locals, and is a landmark reminder of Taiwan's military past. The site was developed after the Chinese Civil War as a residential area for members of the Nationalist military and their families and dependents.  I also lived in the military type residence when I was little.  I had many neighborhood kids as borthers and sisters, and we all grew up togetger.  It was a very fun time.
