Taiwan—Taipei 2016-10-14

I woke up about 6:30 in the morning. Immediately, I headed to the Taipei Bontanical Garden. Unfortunately, the sky was gray and it looked like it would rain later.

The garden was established during Japanese rule in 1921 and is maintained by the Taiwan Forestry Research Institute.

Currently, the garden is maintained and has over 1,500 species of plants. The garden has 17 districts including exhibition of various plants. The 9 ponds are also designed to grow different plants. There are two historical buildings in the garden. One is a Qing Dynasty era Taiwan administration building build in 1888 and the other is a herbarium.

If you go to the garden in the early morning, you will see people either exercise alone or with a group.  The garden is also one of bird lovers' favour places.  Every morning, you will see bird lovers walk around the garden with their cameras and search for birds.
