We got 4:20am morning call. The whole hotel was waking up. We were hurry up to get ready and walked to the train station to catch a train to Jhushan (祝山) to watch the sunrise. The sun rose at 6:32 am.
Alishan is well known for its sunrises. Visitors one can observe the sun come up on a sea of clouds in the area between Alishan and Yushan (玉山).
Alishan has many giant Taiwanese red cypresses, some of which have been growing in the area for well over 2,000 years.
Final note. Alishan has beautiful scenery and endless stairs.
